Grants and Community Events

OYF takes every opportunity to provide educational advancements for our youth. In all cases the outcome must meet our mission and vision statements. Therefore, all requests for funds from schools and other community-based groups or organizations must meet the criteria of assisting the educational needs and pursuits of Metro-Detroit area youth. Grants or requests must be targeted for youth, ages 4-19 or those youth in grades K-12.

Programs and activity criteria to be considered for grant awards must be designed to:
  1. Build personal and educational competences and skills in a designated area;
  2. Help youth move successfully from childhood to adulthood;
  3. Serve physically or emotionally challenged youth and/or adults.
  4. Provide youth with career development and learning opportunities;
  5. Involve youth with approved volunteer community service opportunities.
Proposals must be dated. Within the request, please include the following information:
  1. Legal name of organization or individual;
  2. Name of contact person, address, and telephone number;
  3. Objective of the requested grant;
  4. Total amount of funds requested and need for funds;
  5. Total number of youth project will benefit;
  6. Name of project, current operating budget and total cost of project;
  7. Project timeline and completion date.
